I woke up this morning at 5:30am (because that’s what I do) and it was 48 degrees…yes, it’s May 15th and I am contemplating arm and leg warmers for the May PEACHES ride. Global warming is really working out well for us here in the deep south!
It was cold and windy with lots of windbreakers, and some long finger gloves. My helmuffs came back out of their bag, and I saw quite a few head coverings.
Nine bikes with crazy people (including special guests Denny and Stephanie Sutton from Chattanooga) on them rode the May PEACHES ride from the Cartersville Budweiser Brewery. The scenery was beautiful but it was too cold for me to take the camera out from under layers of clothing on my captain’s back.
Lunch was at the Mellow Mushroom in Cartersville.
Our ride leaders Peter Leafman and Margaret McDaniel were able to reserve a table for us in a semi-private room. Six teams stuck around for the post ride festivities, and enjoyed some good food.
The June PEACHES ride will be hosted by Eve Kofsky and Roger Strauss on Saturday June 25, in Taylorsville – mark your calendars and we’ll get you the details after the Georgia Tandem Rally.
